Overview:

Nelson had a nice two years at Eastern Illinois, where he played in 23 career games, had 36 receptions, for 493 receiving yards, and 1 receiving touchdown. He has good size, he has great speed, he also has nice breakaway speed after he catches the ball, and has an explosive burst off the line of scrimmage. He also is a really good route runner, he is a solid pass catcher, is sure handed, and a good deep threat. He is also a tough nosed player, he makes defenders miss with ease, and he easily breaks tackles. He only got into the endzone one time, but there were many times where he came so close, so I donÕt see this as a big determent for a team to at least sign him as a priority free agent. With all that said, I view Nelson as a potential late 7th round pick, to being a priority free agent, as I mentioned above. He has the skill set that will definitely translate at the next level, all he needs is an opportunity, and the right system, and coaches to get him to where he eventually wants to be. He is definitely a player that I believe, while he seems like a developmental player at first, will eventually turn into a solid 3rd or 4th receiver.
