Overview:

Phillips finished his career at Stanford, where he played in 19 career games, had 55 tackles, 11.5 for loss, and 8.5 sacks. He also had 2 pass breakups. He has good size, is a solid tackler, a hard hitter, and a run stuffer. He commands double teams, is very physical, and is very powerful. He gets good pressure on the quarterback, and is a good pass rusher. He is also a 3-down defensive lineman, a defensive play maker, and a difference maker on defense. He powers his way through the offensive line in pursuit of the ball carrier, and he gets a good push on the offensive line. On the other hand, he does not have great speed, but that does not hurt his game, he missed all but 1 game his Sophomore season due to a seasons ending injury, and he had issues against Notre Dame in 2017 while facing off against Quenton Nelson, and Mike McGlinchey. With that said, I see Phillips being a day 2 pick when it is all said and done.
