Overview:

Smythe finished his career at Notre Dame, where he played in 38 career games, had 28 receptions, for 381 receiving yards, and 6 receiving touchdowns. He has good size, good speed for his size, is a good pass catcher when called upon, and a good route runner. He is a good pass blocker, a good run blocker, and he opens holes up for his backs. He also is a tough nosed player, he has good instincts, and he gets a good push on his defender when blocking. On the other hand, while he has good speed he does not have elite tight end speed, but that does not hurt his game, he was not a big part of the offense at Notre Dame, and he missed all but 3 games in 2015 due to Shoulder, and Knee injuries suffered against Virginia. With that said, I see Smythe being a day 3 pick when it is all said and done.
