Jason’s Official 2018 NFL Draft Scouting Report: Wyoming QB Josh Allen

Josh Allen, QB, Wyoming

Scouting Report:

Allen finished his career at Wyoming playing in 27 career games, where he had 365 completions, for 5066 passing yards, 44 passing touchdowns, and 21 interceptions. He also had 767 rushing yards on 237 attempts, with 12 rushing touchdowns. He clearly has the size, he has a strong arm, he gets the ball out quickly when needed, he is also a good running quarterback, and has good pocket awareness. He has the speed, as well as being a good running quarterback, he is a very mobile quarterback, he can make something out of nothing with his legs, and he is also tough to take down when running with the ball. He is good under pressure, he does a good job of avoiding pressure while in the pocket, he distributes the ball to all of his eligible receivers, he has a nice deep ball, and is a very athletic player. On the other side, he plays the majority of the time out of the shotgun, he does tend to overthrow some passes, he does not have the greatest accuracy, and he was limited to just 2 games in 2015 due to a broken collarbone. With all of that said, I expect Allen to be among the first 4 quarterbacks taken, and a top 10 pick when it is all said and done this April.
