Jason’s Official 2018 NFL Draft Scouting Report: Western Michigan CB Darius Phillips

Darius Phillips, CB, Western Michigan

Scouting Report:

Phillips finished his career at Western Michigan, where he played in 51 career games, had 127 tackles, 13.0 for loss, 12 interceptions, 47 pass breakups, 4 forced fumbles, and 3 fumbles recovered. He has good speed, he is a great cover cornerback, and a shut down cornerback. He is very physical, and does not back down. He is a tackling machine, and a ball hawk. He is also a defensive play maker, and a difference maker on defense. He is also a dynamic return man. And he is a hard hitter, and has good instincts. On the other hand, he is a bit on the small side, but that does not hurt his game. With that said, I view Phillips as a day 3 pick when it is all said and done.
