Jason’s Official 2018 NFL Draft Scouting Report: UT-San Antonio DE Marcus Davenport

Marcus Davenport, DE, UT-San Antonio

Scouting Report:

Davenport finished his career at UT-San Antonio, where he played in 46 career games, had 186 tackles, 38.0 for loss, and 22.0 sacks. He also had 8 pass breakups, 6 forced fumbles, and 2 fumbles recovered. He has great size, he has good speed, is a tackling machine, and has good instincts. He gets great pressure on the quarterback, and is a solid pass rusher. He is also a run stuffer, a hard hitter, and a defensive play maker. He uses his speed to get through, and around the offensive line in pursuit of the ball carrier. On the other hand, I am not sure where he fits best, he has the height, but is a bit light. With that said, I expect Davenport to be a 1st-round pick when it is all said and done.
