Jason’s Official 2018 NFL Draft Scouting Report: Toledo DE Olasunkanmi Adeniyi

Olasunkanmi Adeniyi, DE, Toledo

Scouting Report:

Adeniyi finished his career at Toledo, where he played in 34 career games, had 118 tackles, 28.0 for loss, 12.5 sacks, 1 pass breakup, 3 forced fumbles, and 1 fumble recovered. He has good edge rush size, he has good speed, and he is a tackling machine. He gets good pressure on the quarterback, and is a good pass rusher. He gets a good push on the offensive line, and he does not get pushed around that easily at the line of scrimmage. He is a defensive play maker, and a difference maker on defense. He is also a relentless defender, and a ferocious defender. He is also a hard hitter, and a run stuffer. He is a tough nosed player, and has good instincts. He also uses his speed, and power to get through the offensive line in pursuit of the ball carrier. On the other hand, he is not the tallest edge rusher, he likely will not be a full time 4-3 defensive end due to his size, so I expect him to be either a part time edge rusher, or covert to being a 3-4 outside linebacker, and while he has good speed, he does not have elite edge rush speed, but that does not hurt his game. With that said, I view Adeniyi as a day 3 pick when it is all said and done.
