Jason’s Official 2018 NFL Draft Scouting Report: Tennessee CB Rashaan Gaulden

Rashaan Gaulden, CB, Tennessee

Scouting Report:

Gaulden finished his career at Tennessee, where he played in 36 career games, had 140 tackles, 9.5 for loss, 1 interception, 10 pass breakups, 4 forced fumbles, and 3 fumbles recovered. He has good size, he has good speed, and was a tackling machine. He is a defensive play maker, and a difference maker on defense. He is a tough nosed player, and has good instincts. He is very versatile, as he can play both cornerback, and safety. He is a relentless defender, and a ferocious defender. He is a hard hitter, very physical, and does not back down. He is also a solid cover defensive back. On the other hand, he is not known as a ball hawk, as he only had 1 interception in his career, he missed all of the 2015 season due to a foot injury suffered during training camp, and while he has good speed, he does not have elite defensive back speed, but that does not hurt his game. With that said, I view Gaulden as a day 3 pick when it is all said and done.
