Jason’s Official 2018 NFL Draft Scouting Report: Temple DT Jullian Taylor

Jullian Taylor, DT, Temple

Scouting Report:

Taylor, finished his career at Temple, played in 15 career games, had 48 tackles, 10.0 for loss, and 1.0 sack. He has great size, he has good speed, and is a solid tackler. He is a defensive play maker, and a difference maker on defense. He gets a good push on the offensive line, and he does not get pushed around that easily. He is a tough nosed player, and has good instincts. He gets good pressure on the quarterback, and is a good pass rusher. He is very powerful, and physical, and he uses his power to get through the offensive line. He is a hard hitter, and a run stuffer. He is also a relentless defender, and a ferocious defender. On the other hand, he has issues with fast running backs, and quarterbacks at times, he missed all but 3 games in 2916 due to an injury, he is not known as a sack guy as he only had 1 in his career, and while he has good speed, he does not have elite defensive lineman speed, but that does not hurt his game. With that said, I view Taylor as a day 3 pick when it is all said and done.
