Jason’s Official 2018 NFL Draft Scouting Report: Rutgers DE Kemoko Turay

Kemoko Turay, DE, Rutgers

Scouting Report:

Turay finished his career at Rutgers, where he played in 44 career games, had 96 tackles, 19.0 for loss, 14.5 sacks, 1 interception, 3 pass breakups, and 2 fumbles recovered. He has good edge rush size, he has good speed, and a tackling machine. He gets good pressure on the quarterback, and is a good pass rusher. He is a defensive play maker, and a difference maker on defense. He also has a nice quick burst off the line of scrimmage, and he gets through the offensive line with ease. On the other hand, he is a bit too small to play defensive end in the NFL full time, so he may have to switch to outside linebacker in a 3-4 scheme, and he does not always wrap up the quarterback for the sacks. With that said, I see Turay being a late day 2, to early day 3 pick when it is all said and done.
