Jason’s Official 2018 NFL Draft Scouting Report: Oregon RB Royce Freeman

Royce Freeman, RB, Oregon

Scouting Report:

Freeman finished his career at Oregon, where he played in 51 career games, had 947 carries, for 5621 rushing yards, and 60 rushing touchdowns. He also had 79 receptions, for 814 receiving yards, and 4 receiving touchdowns. He was a workhorse back for Oregon, he has great speed, he has good vision, and is a tough runner. He has a nice quick burst, he is an explosive play maker, and is very versatile, as he can lineup in the slot if needed. He is also a solid pass catcher, he keeps fighting for extra yardage, and is a good blocker. He also breaks tackles with ease, and makes defenders miss. On the other hand, he tends to get stuffed at times, he did not play in a pro style offense, he gets swallowed up in the backfield at times, and is a bit undersized, but that does not hurt his game. With that said, I view Freeman as a day 3 pick when it is all said and done.
