Jason’s Official 2018 NFL Draft Scouting Report: Ole Miss OLB Marquis Haynes

Marquis Haynes, OLB, Ole Miss

Scouting Report:

Haynes finished his career at Ole Miss, where he played in 50 career games, had 172 tackles, 47.5 for loss, and 32.0 sacks. He also had 1 interception, 6 pass breakups, 12 forced fumbles, and 3 fumbles recovered. He has good speed, has good height, is a tackling machine, and a sack machine. He gets good pressure on the quarterback, and is a good pass rusher. He is also versatile, as he can line up at both outside linebacker, and defensive end. He also creates havoc on defense, and is a very relentless defender. On the other hand, he does get pushed around by bigger offensive lineman due to being so light, and he is too light to be as defensive end in the NFL, so he will likely end up being a 3-4 outside linebacker. With that said, I see Haynes being a day 2 pick when it is all said and done.
