Jason’s Official 2018 NFL Draft Scouting Report: Ohio State OLB Jerome Baker

Jerome Baker, OLB, Ohio State

Scouting Report:

Baker finished his career at Ohio State, where he played in 33 career games, had 158 tackles, 17.5 for loss, and 7.5 sacks. He also had 2 interceptions, 3 pass breakups, 1 forced fumble, and 3 fumbles recovered. He has good size, he has good speed, he is a tackling machine, and has good instincts. He gets good pressure on the quarterback, and is a good pass rusher. He is also a hard hitter, a very relentless defender, and is good in coverage. He also uses his speed to get by the offensive line in pursuit of the ball carrier. On the other hand, while he has good speed, he does have elite speed, but that doers not hurt his game, and he is not known as a big sack guy. With that said, I see Baker being an early day 2 pick, likely being picked within the first 10-15 picks of the 2nd-round.
