Jason’s Official 2018 NFL Draft Scouting Report: Notre Dame ILB Nyles Morgan

Nyles Morgan, ILB, Notre Dame

Scouting Report:

Morgan finished his career at Notre Dame, where he played 50 career games, had 243 tackles, 16.5 for loss, 6.0 sacks, 4 pass breakups, 2 forced fumbles, and 1 fumble recovered. He has great size, he has good speed, and was a tackling machine. He is a tough nosed player, and has a good instincts. He is also a hard hitter, and a run stuffer. He is a defensive play maker, he gets good pressure on the quarterback, and he is a good pass rusher. He is also a very relentless defender, a good cover linebacker, and he creates havoc on defense. He is also versatile, as he played both inside linebacker, and outside linebacker at Notre Dame. On the other hand, he is not known as a big sack guy, and while he has good speed, he does not have elite linebacker speed, but that does not hurt his game. With that said, I see Morgan as a late round pick.
