Jason’s Official 2018 NFL Draft Scouting Report: N.C. State DT Justin Jones

Justin Jones, DT, N.C. State

Scouting Report:

Jones finished his career at N.C. State, where he played in 46 career games, had 119 tackles, 22.5 for loss, 8.5 sacks, 1 pass breakup, 1 forced fumble, and 2 fumbles recovered. He has good size, he is a tackling machine, a tough nosed player, and has good instincts. He is a defensive play maker, and a difference maker on defense. He is also very powerful, and he commands double teams. He is a run stuffer, a hard hitter, and a relentless defender. He also gets a good push on the offensive line, and he does not get pushed around that easily at the line of scrimmage. On the other hand, he is not known as a big sack guy, and he does not have the best speed, but that does not hurt his game. With that said, I view Jones as a day 3 pick.
