Jason’s Official 2018 NFL Draft Scouting Report: Middle Tennessee WR Richie James

Richie James, WR, Middle Tennessee

Scouting Report:

James finished his career at Middle Tennessee, where he played in 31 career games, had 244 receptions, for 3261 receiving yards, and 23 receiving touchdowns. He also rushed the ball 60 times, for 542 rushing yards, and had 5 rushing touchdowns, showing versatility. He has great speed, he is a good blocking receiver, a solid pass catcher, and sure handed. He was a go-to receiver for MTSU, he was a scoring machine, and he has a nice explosive burst off the line of scrimmage. He is an offensive play maker, and a dynamic play maker. He makes defenders miss with ease, he breaks tackles with ease, and is tough to take down, despite his smaller size. He is also s a good route runner, and a good deep threat, he catches everything thrown his way, he is a threat whenever he has the ball, and he consistently beats his defender. On the other hand, he is on the small side. With that said, I view James as a day 3 pick when it is all said and done.
