Jason’s Official 2018 NFL Draft Scouting Report: Michigan DT Maurice Hurst

Maurice Hurst, DT, Michigan

Scouting Report:

Hurst finished his career at Michigan, where he played in 38 career games, had 129 tackles, 31.5 for loss, and 12.5 sacks. He also had 3 pass breakups, 2 forced fumbles, and 1 fumble recovered. He has great size, he has good speed, is a very relentless defender, is a hard hitter, and a run stuffer. He gets good pressure on the quarterback, and is a good pass rusher. He bull rushes his way through the offensive line, and is a defensive play maker. On the other hand, he is not known as a sack specialist. With all of that said, I expect Hurst to be a 1st-round pick likely being taken within the first 25 pick when it is all said and done.
