Jason’s Official 2018 NFL Draft Scouting Report: Miami(Fla.) DT RJ McIntosh

RJ McIntosh, DT, Miami(Fla.)

Scouting Report:

McIntosh finished his career at Miami(Fla.), where he played in 31 career games, had 103 tackles, 23.0 for loss, and 5.5 sacks. He also had 9 pass breakups, 1 forced fumble, and 1 fumble recovered. He has great size, is a tackling machine, has good instincts, and is very powerful. He commands double teams, is a defensive play maker, and a difference maker on defense. He is a run stuffer, and a hard hitter. He powers his way through the offensive line in pursuit of the ball carrier, he gets a good push on the offensive line, and he does not get pushed around that easily at the line of scrimmage. On the other hand, he is not known as a big sack guy, he has issues with fast quarterbacks, and running backs at times, and he does not have the best speed, but that does not hurt his game. With that said, I see McIntosh being a day 2 pick when it is all said and done.
