Jason’s Official 2018 NFL Draft Scouting Report: Memphis QB Riley Ferguson

Riley Ferguson, QB, Memphis

Scouting Report:

Ferguson finished his career at Memphis, where he played in 2 career games, had 579 completions, for 7955 passing yards, 70 passing touchdowns, 19 interceptions, and a completion percentage of 63.1. He also put up 10 rushing touchdowns, on 125 rushes. He has good size, he has good speed, is a very mobile quarterback, he has a strong arm, has a good deep ball, and good accuracy. He a nice quick release, he has good pocket awareness, he is a good pocket passer, and has good instincts. He is also a good passer while rolling out of the pocket, he is able to fit the ball into tight places with ease, and he knows how to evade pressure while in the pocket. On the other hand, he played primarily out of the shotgun, and he overthrows and underthrows his receivers at times. With that said, I view Ferguson to be a day 3 pick, likely in the 4th-5th round range when it is all said and done.
