Jason’s Official 2018 NFL Draft Scouting Report: LSU RB Derrius Guice

Derrius Guice, RB, LSU

Scouting Report:

Guice finished his career at LSU by playing in 36 career games, where he had 471 rushes, for 3074 rushing yards, and 29 rushing touchdowns. He also had 250 receiving yards on 32 catches, along with 3 receiving touchdowns. He has good size, he has great speed, he is a tough runner, has good vision, and has good patience to wait for holes to open. He also attacks the holes, he makes something out of nothing, he is very elusive, and when you think you have him down, he breaks free for more yardage. He also breaks tackles with ease, he makes defenders miss with ease, and is tough to take down. He is also a good blocking back, a scoring machine, an offensive play maker, and a good redzone threat. On the other hand, he gets stuffed at times, and he is not known as a pass catching back. With that all said, I expect Guice to be a 1st-round pick, likely in the top 20 when it is all said and done.
