Jason’s Official 2018 NFL Draft Scouting Report: Louisville QB Lamar Jackson

Lamar Jackson, QB, Louisville

Scouting Report:

Jackson ended up his career at Louisville by playing in 38 career games, completing 619 passes, for 9043 passing yards, with 69 pssing touchdowns, and 27 interceptions. He wa also very prolific in the run game, where he hbad 665 rushes, for 4123 rushing yards, and 50 rushing touchdowns. He has good size, great speed, he has a stromg arm, is a very mobile quarterback, and a dangerous runner. He has a nice deep ball, he has good accuracy, and he has good pocket awareness. He is a dynamic play maker, especially in the run game, where he is tough to take down, he is very elusive, he is able to break tackles when running, he does a good job of escaping potential sacks, and he is able to make something out of nothing with his legs. He does overthrow some passes, and he did not play in a pro style offense. With all of that said, i view Jackson as a 1st-round pick, but I can see him slipping due to the concerns of whether he is an NFL style quarterback, but he should not go any later than the early part of the 2nd-round.
