Josh Sweat, OLB, Florida State
Sweat finished his career at Florida State, where he played in 37 career games, had 138 tackles, 24.0 for loss, and 12.0 sacks. He also had 1 interception, 3 pass breakups, 1 forced fumble, and 3 fumbles recovered. He has good edge rush size, he has good speed, is a tackling machine, and has good instincts. He gets good pressure on the quarterback, and is a good pass rusher. He is a defensive play maker, he is very relentless on defense, and is a good cover linebacker. He is also versatile, as he can lineup at both outside linebacker, and defensive end. He also is a hard hitter, he commands double teams, and creates havoc on defense. He also gets a good push on the offensive line, and is a 3-down defender. On the other hand, while he has good speed, he does not have elite edge rush speed, but that does not hurt his game, and when he is lined up at defensive end he tends to have some issues with bigger offensive lineman. With all of that said, I expect Sweat to be a 1st-round pick when it is all said and done.
