Jason’s Official 2018 NFL Draft Scouting Report: Delaware DT Bilal Nichols

Bilal Nichols, DT, Delaware

Scouting Report:

Nichols finished his career at Delaware, where he played in 44 career games, had 129 tackles, 18.0 for loss, 12.0 sacks, 2 interceptions, 11 pass breakups, and 3 forced fumbles. He has great size, he is a tackling machine, a defensive play maker, and a difference maker on defense. He gets a good push on the offensive line, and he does not get pushed around that easily. He is also a tough nosed player, and has good instincts. He gets good pressure on the quarterback, and is a good pass rusher. He is also a relentless defender, and a ferocious defender. He is very powerful, and physical, and he uses his power to get through the offensive line. He is also a hard hitter, and a run stuffer. On the other hand, he has issues with fast running backs, and quarterbacks at times, as well as having issues with big offensive lineman at times, and he does not have the best speed, but that does not hurt his game. With that said, I view Nichols as a day 3 pick when it is all said and done.
