Jason’s Official 2018 NFL Draft Scouting Report: Arkansas State DE JaVon Rolland-Jones

JaVon Rolland-Jones, DE, Arkansas State

Scouting Report:

Rolland-Jones finished his career at Arkansas State, where he played in 49 career games, had 179 tackles, 63.0 for loss, and 42.0 sacks. He also had 1 interception, 3 pass breakups, 10 forced fumbles, and 2 fumbles recovered. He has good edge rush size, he has good speed, is a vert relentless defender, and is a very ferocious defender. He gets good pressure on the quarterback, and is a good pass rusher. He is also a tackling machine, a difference maker on defense, a hard hitter, and creates havoc on defense. He also does not get pushed around that easily at the line of scrimmage, and he uses his speed to get around the offensive lineman in pursuit of the quarterback. On the other hand, he is a bit light, and will likely end up being a 3-4 outside linebacker in the NFL. With that said, I expect Rolland-Jones to be a early day 3 pick when it is all said and done.
