Jason’s Official 2018 NFL Draft Scouting Report: Alabama CB Minkah Fitzpatrick

Minkah Fitzpatrick, CB, Alabama

Scouting Report:

Fitzpatrick finished his career at Alabama, where he played in 42 career games, where he had 171 tackles, 16.5 for loss, 9 interceptions, 24 pass breakups, and 2 forced fumbles. He has great speed, is a tackling machine, a hard hitter, and proved to be a ball hawk. He is very versatile, as he can play both cornerback, and safety, he is very physical, and does not back down. He also has good instincts, and he has good overall size. He is a shut down cornerback, has great ball skills, and is good in coverage. He also proved to be a defensive play maker, and was a special teams standout on the coverage team. On the other hand, he is not the tallest cornerback, and he has issues with fast backs and receivers at times, but those do not hurt his game. With all of that said, I expect Fitzpatrick to end up being the top cornerback taken, and a top 5-10 pick when it is all said and done.
